Be careful using download plan!
Be Carefull when using the download plan. There are no overall or internal dimensions given in plan. Therefore you can not scale the project. Music box will not fit inside box if you use standard 8.5" x 11" print settings! Had to go to minature music box with just windup. Next time I will copy drawings into a picture program and scale up- would have been nice if overall dimensions were given. Buy the paper plan

Modify and use common sense....
The finished box was beautiful; however, I do have a few issues. First, the pattern does not match the box. The pattern has the left-hand part of the body coming to a point. This WILL NOT WORK, as you will have a section of the interior of the box that is paper thin. This does not match the given picture either! Because of the issues I had with other parts of the plans, I left the accent out of the lid. It still turned out great. After modifying the plans so that it did not come to a point on the inside, everything went fairly well. Also, the list of screws given at the end is incorrect. Swap the numbers of 1" and 3/4" screws. FOLLOW THE PICTURE INSTEAD OF WHAT IT SAYS! The 1" screws are too long and you will be taking a chance of cracking the body of the box. My only other complaint is that it seems like some of the materials are designed so that you HAVE to purchase them from Woodcraft. That's fine if you have a store near you, but the nearest one for me is over 100 miles away.

Good Plans And Striking Result
This is an excellent project that results in a striking result. The photos and steps are good and very helpful. There were a few mistakes in the plans and careful readers will find and correct them. My only real complaint is that there should have been more instructions and tips for finishing as there are many difficult areas to access. Overall, however, the plans were very good.

Very nice plan!
I modified the plan to be just a box ... not a music box. I removed the feet and used felt pads and I also modified the lid to not use hinges. (Added a thin piece of heart-shaped wood to be an inside lip of the lid.) The plan was very clear and the photos were very helpful.
