Amazing look, after some trial and error
After a little trial and error, I learned to keep a wet edge while applying. Then I tried to brush on a water based poly ("M" brand), What a disaster, the dye bled into to the poly, looked horrible, brush marks, blotchy, pulled the color everywhere as I brushed! I went online and read about spraying waterbased poly, grabed a cheep HVLP spray gun (not the $400 one I use on cars) from my garage, wow what a difference! The finish looks amazing! Don't know why I haven't tried dye stains or spraying water based poly before, now that I know what I'm doing it's easy and I'm getting great results!
