Good lock
Lock worked great for a Secretary desk. Smooth operation and 2 extra screws were included. Other review said the escutcheon nails were too long, and yes they are long but you can easily use a side cutting pliers to cut shorter and then file / sand a new point. Another review did not like the finish and it’s true, right out of the package they don’t look all that good but less than 5 minutes with a scotch brite pad and then a leather strop and they were nice and shiny. Good buy for the price. Would purchase again.

very nice, decorative
i used this lock to help decorate a toy chest for a little girl, it helps make the chest look more like furiture and not just something to consolidate toys.combined with brass handles and the dove tailed joint and other thing it helps make it look like it belongs in the liveing room not a closet

PIECE O' JUNK!
I was using this for a SeaChest made from African Mahogony, walnut, maple and oak very expensive woods to be carving and routing in a lock that just fell apart! The center key stabilizer was easily broken off, it was not centered correctly which intern made the lock difficult to open and close, hence why it broke off.

Lock for glass displaya cabinet
The lock access was horozinal and the escutcheon plate needed to be vertical which made it difficult to install on my cabinet making the key difficult to use. Maybe it would have worked better for a blanket chest.

Great Lock, Great Price
I bought the lock for a cedar chest for my oldest daughter. I had looked at other sites and found the same lock but a little more expensive. This lock worked perfectly, was easy to install, and came with everything needed. I had previously built a wedding chest for my youngest daughter out of cherry and wish that I had found this lock before I utilized a half-mortise. Somehow the search engine for Woodcraft did not display the lock at that time. Will buy several more at the first of the year.

not for an heirloom
Mechanism worked hard. In a month the aluminum key wore down a millimeter till it no longer operated the lock. Comes with only one key. Dead key = dead lock.

Just OK
I gave this lock set a 2 star rating due to the poor design and mechanical flaws. I actually had to file the catch to opperate the lock. Evem still does not have smooth operation when turning the key. Key has very sloppy fit in lock while opperating. You must use at least a 1-1/4" thick material for mortice in order to properly attach the eschechen plate.
