This professional-grade chisel is made by Fugikawa and features a thin layer of white steel laminated to a softer steel main body. The cutting edge is very durable, and the back is hollow ground to facilitate sharpening. This socket chisel is built for the toughest jobs, but is meant for fine woodworking. Handle is Japanese Red Oak topped with a black steel hoop. Hoop needs to be set.

    Cracked chisel shanks

    The handle shanks crack with light wooden mallet blows The cracks appear radially. The edges (non cutting edge)are wicked sharp, I couldn't figure out why my thumbs had deep cuts after I would sharpen them. Otherwise these chisels are a pleasure to use and cut like butter! The blade steel is outstanding, however is difficult to sharpen. Woodcraft needs us to be able to show pictures on this website for evidence.
