    Details

The main difference between white paper and blue paper steel is the ability of the white to take a very fine edge. Except for the two large roughing gouges, our violin tools are now the made of the finest white paper steel, hand-forged and hardened to Rc64-65 by Master Blacksmith Seigen. Each tool is individually forged and goes through numerous operations before being fitted with the finest quality Japanese Red Oak handle.

A Fishtail or Tapered Paring Chisel flares out at the cutting edge and narrows down as the blade approaches the shank, permitting greater flexibility and control when working in tight areas. Blade length is 2-1/4", with an overall length of 9-1/4".
