Great tool for the money
This is my first planer I bought and it works great. I used it on many kinds of hard and soft woods and haven't had tear out problems. The in and out feed tables really are nice so is the depth removal gauge. The height gauge on the side was pretty accurate just needed a little bit of tuning to get right, and the depth stop wheel on the side is really helpful for getting perfect thicknesses, the stops it has are 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4. I haven't had any differences in the thickness with in 1/64 of an inch which is acceptable for me. I recommend you have a 20 amp circuit for it if you have any thing else going on like battery chargers or a small tool just to be safe. I can only run the planer and my shop vac together or else it will pop the breaker. Other than that its a great machine and totally worth it.

great tool
would highly recommend this product my father had given me his old planer that i used for a couple of months and wish i had purchased this one sooner. from ease of use to knife changing this machine is awesome. i suggest spending the extra money for the stand due to its weight.

Very solid quality planer!
I bought this planer a couple weeks back on the advice of the local woodcraft sales rep advice, the brand name, and some research on the net. I'm perfectly satisfied and it met all expectations. It's very easy to use, has all the "feel" of a quality built tool, and worked perfectly on my first set of boards. I really like the blower feature on this model because I know it's helping my dust collection system. This is a quality tool.

Great Planer!
I've had this planer for 3 years or so. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It works VERY well and had saved me hours of sanding and working with pieces off of my table saw. I have been somewhat unhappy with the Dewalt knives though. I have found that they don't last very long. I just bought a new set of blades from [*] that I've seen others review very positively but haven't used them yet.
