Bangles, curtain rings, wheels, captive rings on goblets, and puzzles are a few of the projects you can create with the Robert Sorby® Captive Ring Tool Set. You no longer need a "left and right" tool for each size captive ring. Simply unscrew the retaining screw and reverse the cutter to switch from cutting the right side to cutting the left side of a captive ring.

There is no longer a need for an array of tools to cut different sizes of captive rings. The four interchangeable tips allow you to produce 3/16", 1/4 ", 3/8" and 1/2" rings using one inexpensive set. A 3/4" flat shank on the tool rest eliminates catches common to round captive ring tools rotating during the cut.

Features:

  • Cut four different sizes of captive rings with just one tool
  • Use to make jewelry, napkin rings, curtain rings and even wheels
  • Finely honed tips ensure a clean cut every time
  • Capable of producing 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" rings
  • Angle the cutter for access to restricted spaces

What's Included:

  • (1) Captive Ring Tool Set with 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" cutters
  • (1) Instructions

    A tricky job made easy

This tool does but one thing, it cuts captured rings on spindles. I learned how to cut rings using a skew chisel however I was looking for a way to cut smaller and more precise rings for some bottle stoppers that I was planning to make. I opted for this tool because it cut a large variety of ring sizes with just one tool. Thus far I have only used the smaller sized cutters however they are simple to use and cut very nice and well proportioned rings. If I were cutting a lot of rings I would opt for a left and a right cutting tool rather than having to change the tip back and forth with an allen wrench as required with this tool. It does however fit my needs for an occasional hand made gift or special project. I would buy another of these tools if I lost the one I have.
