    Details

There are two types of accelerators (aka kickers) used by consumers: acetone-based, and heptane-based. Acetone-based accelerators are the fastest, but they create a very exothermic reaction that can boil the CA and cause bubbles to form in the glue, which is called blooming. Acetone-based accelerators will also eat into paint and other finishes, not to mention blistering the skin if it contacts flesh. Mercury Adhesives uses heptane as its base. It has a slightly slower reaction, but is far less exothermic – so no blooming or blistering. When used in conjunction with Mercury Flex products, Mercury’s accelerator will create a purely crystalline depth to the finish. It also is foam and paint friendly.

    Features:

    • Heptane-based CA glue accelerator
    • Used for normal curing of cyanoacrylates
    • Deposits a correct balance of neutralizing ions on the surface, stimulating attrition for the adhesive and preparing the surface for bonding
    • Safe for any substrate
    • Backed by Mercury’s 100% unconditional guarantee
    • Made in the USA

    Specifications:

    • Color: Clear
    • Size: 12 ounce aerosol spray can
    • Cure Speed: < 5 seconds
    • Cured Performance is dependent on the adhesive viscosity. Low viscosity being faster to set < 5 seconds and higher viscosity < 10 seconds, gels dependent on techniques < 30 seconds
