This color reminded the Black Dog Salvage crew so much of the beautiful sunsets over the Appalachian mountains in their hometown – Roanoke, Virginia – that they decided to make it one of their paint colors. Add a splash of sunset to your next project with this beautiful pinkish-red hue.

Dig it out! Grandma’s hand-me-downs never looked so good. Take a vintage piece, one you found at a flea market, antique shop or even on the street corner, and make it lively again with Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint.

Mix it up! Blend this pinkish-red color with our true black, true white, or another shade of Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint to create a paint color that fits your décor perfectly. (Other Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint colors sold separately.)

Developed for the furniture built in the Black Dog Salvage shop, this easy-to-use, water-based paint applies in one coat, giving your old furniture and décor items new life and a designer look. The ultra matte chalky finish paint is self-leveling so it goes on smooth and feels great to the touch – all without brush marks.

All of the Black Dog Salvage furniture paint colors were designed with true color tints and no hidden mixtures. Meaning that when mixed, colors produced won’t have any unwanted results. True color tints give consistent, repeatable results when you want to achieve a desired color or effect.

Not only is it easy to use, it’s easy on the nose too. Nothing’s worse than the smell of wet dog or fumy paint, neither of which you need to worry about with Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint. It’s both low VOC and low odor. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do to help you with the wet dog smell.

Black Dog Salvage Furniture Paint has the same properties as other chalk paints on the market, with increased durability and adhesion that the others can’t match. This paint can be used on finished and unfinished surfaces like furniture, woodwork, metal, glass and more! Priming isn’t necessary, but cleaning old furniture with mineral spirits or common household chemicals to remove dirt and old wax is recommended.

Black Dog Salvage Painting Techniques:

Treat your paint right: stir only

Apply it to your project with a good quality brush (bristle or foam – your choice), roller, or a paint sprayer

If spraying, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s setting and thinning recommendations

Once you’re finished, cleanup is easy – just a little soap and water will do the trick

One PintPlus can covers approximately 79 square feet and dries in approximately1-2 hours under ideal conditions (70° with 25-50% relative humidity). Made in the USA.
