Buffs Nicely, But the Buffing Wheels are too Close Together

This does what it is supposed to do. You get three convenient buffing wheels that do a fine job of finishing, but they are much too close together. Unless you are doing more than a very small project you will find yourself bumping against the adjacent wheel when buffing. Also, getting into tight spots can be really tough with the the wheels so close together. I disassembled mine and used it one wheel at a time to get my Christmas gifts finished. If I could do it over again, I would purchase the three piece bowl buffing set and the "Hold Fast - Lathe Buffing Extender 1-1/4" x 8TPI". When I can afford it, that is my plan.

    beall buffing mandrel

More space between the wheels would be an advantage.

    Worth the money

This is worth the money, allthough seams a bit high priced. Works great and saves time on hand polishing. I used it on some puzzles i made and wow what a shine and my fingers were not all cramped up from hand shine. Easy on and off the lathe keeps it clean, and does not take up to much space, no extra tool needed.

    Effective but messy

I would recommend it for small projects with the above caution that the wheels create lint like [*].

    I like it

I use this system to finish bowls and other turned products. It produces a high luster, smooth surface to virtually all species of woods I've used. I do not work with green wood. The only problem I have with it is that the center buff is too close to the outside buffs. As a result, I find the either my hand or the wood occasionally will come into contact with the other buffs.
