Have you ever wanted to turn a traditional pepper mill but have been fearful of the process involved in creating one? Now you can with our WoodRiver® Antique Hand Crank Pepper Grinder, a simple and straightforward turning kit! Simply use any 3" x 3" wood blank by whatever length you desire your grinder to be, mark the center and drill a 1"-diameter hole through the center of the blank to allow the pepper to pass through. Mount the blank between centers by utilizing a jamb chuck. Next turn to your desired profile, sand, finish, and attach the grinder to the top of your turned piece. Now you have a one-of-a-kind antique looking pepper grinder. Grinder mechanism features an Antique Copper finish, cast metal parts, and a finial that adjusts for coarse to fine granules.

    Nice easy project

    Easy project to do. The screws to attach grinder to the base are a bit of a pain to put in but all in all a great kit!

    Fun Project for beginners

    I like everything about the project. The only thing that doesn't make sense is why the manufacturer stained and polyurethaned the crank handle. If you want it to match your base (say you used walnut) you have sand it down and re-do it. Why doesn't it come unfinished in the first place? No matter. I would've gave it 5 stars otherwise. It'll make a good Father's Day present.

    I would buy this product again

    People love this item. The only issue that I have is screwing the screws so they will go in straight. I think the base should be made just a little wider. So far I have order an additional 4.

    Incredible Easy Gift Item

    This is a great simple project for personal use, gift, or sales. I have done a number of these with different exotic woods with matching exotic turned salt shakers. Simple, Quick, and a very useful item.
