    Disapointment

I purchased this item to use on my lathe banjo. to hold the tool rest securely. I carefully measured the opening before ordering this item to make sure that I didn't order a incorrect handle. It is advertised as being 5/16" with 18 TPI which is exactly what I needed. What I received was a handle that was slightly less than 5/16". It appeared to be catching around 80% to 90% of the thread and it sort-of worked if you were willing to accept a slight rocking from side to side as you tightened it up. I ended up taking a 5/16" handle off of my stationary belt sander and using it on the lathe instead of the one that I bought because the lathe handle gets lots of use and I was afraid it might strip out eventually. I used this handle on the belt sander because once it was tight it wouldn't be used all that often. I am planning on spending slightly more for another handle and this time I am going to buy one from the manufacturer that made the belt sander and lathe. I actually think the handle from WoodCraft is metric instead of SAE.

    Good Replacement

Simple device that does what it was designed to do.

    Could be better

The basic design is very good, but it should be make from aluminum or some lightweight metal rather than plastic. It feels flimsy and it doesn't feel like it will last very long.
