OK for cutting boards from a small log.
The mill has a good adjustable log gripers. The base is made from MDF but looks serviceable. The mill is designed to cut boards from a short log by cutting a flat on one side of a log and then placing that flat on the platform. The mill is not designed to cut a log with 2 parallel sides since the fence is not not perpendicular to the platform.

This jig allows for quick, safe lumber making on your shop bandsaw. Jig materials are top notch as well as the instructions. Only took 10 minutes to assemble. The fence is made from steel, while the clamps are aluminum and very well built. Has a very solid feel which provides great confidence! Easy adjustments for milling each log you need to cut.
