    The unique feature of our >b>Damascus Woodworking Knives is the special layered Jigane (the material which forms the body of the blade). The Jigane or backing material is made by folding and forge welding separate layers of steel, producing over 20 layers per blade. This material is forge welded to the best quality blue steel, which forms the cutting edge. As with a fine sword, the blades are differentially tempered to Rockwell c63 to give an exceedingly hard, tough edge, with a soft, durable core. Our Damascus Woodworking Knives are far and away the finest knives for working hardwoods, such as Ebony and Rosewood. Average length is 7«".
