Mugs can be turned from a solid piece of wood, a circular stave design, a staved cone or a segmented turning. Each one will give you the basic shape, while the staved design will create a greater or lesser level of difficulty with flat stock. Although this kit is for an experienced turner, you will find that the hollowing techniques are easy to execute, and the results are nothing short of amazing.
