    wish I had one sooner

This bit out performs the delta bits. I should have bought the whole set when it was on sale.

    Poor quality

I bought this to quickly replace the bit that broke inside the delta 1/4" mortising chisel that came with my mortiser. I assumed it would be at least as well made as the one Delta provided. After about 30 minutes of pretty steady use, I noticed that the chisel had warped and wasn't plunging straight down. This wasn't yet a huge problem since the mortises were more or less still in a straight line. However, another 30 minutes later I noticed that the mortises were no longer centered on the material. The chisel was now warping toward the mortiser itself, cutting sloped mortises. Continued use would have only made the problem worse. I took the drill bit out of the chisel and put it inside the old delta chisel. The delta chisel is still drilling straight, just with an aftermarket bit. I tossed the warped chisel from Woodcraft.

    Woodcraft Chisels Just OK

These woodcraft hollow chisel mortising bits have one problem. The drill bits are milled a little too big, so the resulting mortise has one edge rounded by the bit. This is true even when the gap between the bit and chisel is set correctly. It does not improve with a slow feed rate. The 1/4" chisels are fragile, and break frequently. They fail very quickly if you run them continuously on large projects. They do work, and they are cheaper than premium bits. Even the Delta brand 1/4" set fails too.
