Wooden Interior Renovation Projects That Add Value to Your Home
Comments (0)When it comes to interior renovations that add a ton of value, wood is always a good place to start. Expertly finished wooden renovations are highly prized by potential home buyers and are very likely to boost your property value. There are plenty of options to choose from in terms of interior wooden renovations as well, so in case you want a beautiful new wood addition that’s going to add home value, here are a few of our favorites.
1. Wood Floors
Wooden
floors are a tried and true classic. They’ve been adding value to homes for
decades and are still highly prized to this day. There are many different
styles of wood to choose from, including wood veneer, engineered hardwood,
reclaimed wood, premium hardwood, or even bamboo plywood.
Options
like wood veneer, bamboo, and reclaimed wood are a bit more eco-friendly
because they aren’t sourced from freshly fallen trees. They can still add a
decent amount of value to your home, however, because eco-friendliness is
becoming a more valued trait among homeowners.
Which floors you replace with wood shouldn’t make much of a difference, either. For example, most people have new wooden kitchen floors installed, or redo their living room with wood floors. If you have a man cave or just a finished basement that gets a lot of use, though, you might even consider new basement wood flooring.
2. Fresh Wood Cabinets

Let’s say your cabinets are looking a bit outdated. One of the most popular interior renovations you could make is to replace your old cabinets with new, wood cabinets. As cabinets require a lot less material, you can really splurge here and choose a beautiful premium hardwood of your liking.
Depending
on your aesthetic, you might want to incorporate mahogany, ash, cherry, maple,
or another type of high-end wood. Bonus points if you choose a high-quality
stain, paint, and/or finishing product from a premium supplier like Woodcraft.
3. Baseboard/Headboard

Most homes have baseboard running along the bottom of their walls, and they are usually made from wood. If you’re looking for an opportunity to include some new wood in your home’s interior, a new baseboard is a subtle, yet effective way to achieve a small bump in home value.
Again,
you can probably afford to go with a premium option here. Any of the most
popular choices that work well with your home’s color scheme and aesthetic
should be fine, and you can also get creative with the cut and shape of your
baseboard.
Another
lowkey option here is to add headboards to your walls as well. Crown molding,
as it’s known, is much less common than baseboards are. This gives you the
opportunity to differentiate your home by adding it to your walls.
Your
options for color, style, and shape are just as varied as they are with
baseboard and you can even experiment with contrasting color schemes that
uniquely compliment each other.
4. New Trim
Trim
can be found outlining doors, windows, fixtures, and many other places in your
home. Trim is often neglected when it comes to renovations, so it could be the
perfect side project to help add a bit of value. As with baseboard and
headboards, trim is great for adding complexity and contrast to your home’s
interior style.
Wood
is a Multi-Faceted Material for Interior Renovations
If
you’ve got interior renovations on your mind and want to use wood as your main
material, there are plenty of options available to you. Any of the project
ideas we’ve listed here would be a fine start to adding value to your home with
wood. Whether you’re on a tight budget or have money to burn, you should be
able to find at least one project here that suits your home perfectly.
