Tape Overlay Sketch Pad

Whether it’s a wooden handle for a small box, or the shape of a cutting board, it’s amazing how hard it can be to make a curve appear simple, especially when you’re working with unusual grain. Truth be told, most of my “organic” curves are carefully planned. To do this, I cover the face of the workpiece with a few strips of packing tape, or a clear plastic page protector, and then draw the shape on it using a grease pencil. Unlike an errant cut, mistakes can be wiped away with a rag.
