Don Jovag
 
Don Jovag has over 40 years of experience in teaching woodworking. He taught woodworking for 30 years in the public school system at the high school level along with 18 years of adult education classes in furniture building. He has built a 38 foot wood sailboat as well as a 3400 sq ft home including all of the cabinets. He is now becoming known as a wood turner of segmented bowls. His teaching techniques provide concise easy to understand instruction for the beginner as well as advance woodworkers.
 
 
 
Bob Raikes
 
Bob has 39 years of experience in woodcarving. he worked as an apprentice under Gilbert Valencia who was a top carver for "weatherbee guns." Bob teaches everything from whittling to fine sculpture and has spent many years doing commissioned work for making "Hitty antique dolls" and relief carvings. His favorite projects are free form vessels that come complete with poems he has written himself. He loves working with Eucalyptus and Mesquite woods. Sam Correa
 
Sam Correa has over 20 years of woodworking experience. He has done everything from making furniture to framing and building an entire house. He has worked as an Ecology Teacher, Kitchen Designer, General Contractor and an Environmental Research Scientist. His deepest connection lies in furniture making. He teaches mortise and tenon furniture making classes as well as classes covering the use of traditional hand tools and their role in today’s modern workshop. His beautiful and elegant furniture can be seen exhibited in our store. While his father would be his first super hero he also admires the work of John Hall, the hands behind the now infamous Greene and Greene designs. His preferred wood is black walnut which he uses for most of his work. . If you have questions for Sam, and would like to see the furniture from his classes, he is typically working in the store on Saturdays and Sundays.
