I have loved working with wood since I was a boy watching my father build our home. My interest in wood is making boxes, furniture and remodeling. I love woodworking tools. I also love all types of wood, especially exotic woods.

My love of wood and woodworking began as a 3yr old sitting on my father's work bench in our basement, while working on furniture and hope chests. My hands on experience with tools began when we constructed our own home at age 10. Most of the major projects I have completed - in addition to numerous small projects and jigs for my shop - have been mostly sleep related. A hooded cradle for my 1st born, and a bed for each of my twin daughters for their weddings. Given the time, I hope to create many more wood projects. I came to Woodcraft after retiring from 40yrs in x-ray and angiography in hospitals.

Woodworking started for me in junior high building a stool. The four-legged stool lasted for many years and many moves. Because I moved frequently with my job, I acquired tools that I could use anywhere to build whatever project was at hand. My early projects were to build things for our house that we couldn't find. Those included a rolling microwave stand, various book shelves and closet organizers. I learned early that designing the projects on the computer saved lots of time and material building.
My design and building projects include all phases of home construction, chest of drawers, computer furniture, stand alone book cases, built-in book cases, etc.
I love the challenge of designing things to fit unique needs. I primarily use hardwoods and veneers and love the natural look of wood.

I first fell in love with woodworking in high school. During high school I participated in numerous cabinetmaking and furniture competitions, not only on the school level but both the regional and state wide competitions. After high school I decided to get my Associates of Science and an Applied Associates of Science in Cabinetmaking and Architectural Woodworking from Utah Valley University. While in school, I decided to apply for a job here at Woodcraft. Woodcraft has really been so much fun and such a great learning experience. I have been promoted from sales to assistant manager and now I am currently the store general manager. I am always looking forward to learning new things and meeting new people.

Come on down and say hi to me and the other guys anytime.

I am a beginner to intermediate to sometimes competent woodworker. I have been enjoying making small to large projects for many years. I am currently making small cabinets and nice furniture. I also do some carving and design projects to meet the need at hand.
