Well, It's Not Just Every Day When You Get to Be a "Cover Guy"!!

Congratulations, Jason!

One of Seattle Woodcraft's part-timers, Jason Roberts, recently wrote an article for Fine Woodworking Magazine.  And guess what?  His project will grace the COVER of the magazine...issue #206 which should be on newstands shortly.

Jason is a graduate of the School of the Redwoods, and has studied furniture-making in France.  He works for us on Thursday afternoons and evenings, and some Saturdays, so be sure to stop by and offer your congratulations.  We're proud of you!

Festool Updates

The new Festool Drills are in...available in a 12 volt that overpowers any 18 volt; and a 15 volt that equals most 36 volt drills...you'll wonder where Festool hid the cord!  They're much lighter than you would expect with smart lithium ion technology in the batteries that guarantees a healthy battery, and a 2nd generation brushless motor that develops full torque at an incredibly low speed.  Each drill set includes a quick change chuck, 1/2" jacobs chuck, a low profile right angle chuck, and an eccentric chuck that allows you to get into places no drill has ever reached.  And, with Festool's legendary quality and a full 3 year warranty on the drill, charger and batteries, this drill may very well last through a lifetime!  For a limited time (until July 31st or when quantities run out), both the 12v and 15v drill now come with a free sysbox to help organize all your screws and bits (a $70 value).

But there's more...Festool currently has six other specials going on until June 30th.  Stop by the store now to learn more!

Your "Hand Tool Coach", Rob Cosman, Returns!

Based on popular demand, our good friend, Rob Cosman is scheduled to return to your Seattle Woodcraft store to teach a three-day, hands-on project class in January, 2010.  (The 14th, 15th and 16th...see our class listing for more information.)

As many of you know, Rob has joined us annually for several years now, and over 75 customers have experienced Rob's special way of explaining and teaching hand tool woodworking techniques.  And virtually everyone who has been a part of his highly educational workshops at the store has clamored for more...especially "hands-on" classes.  As a result, Rob has created this special three day class, representing a condensed version of the more extensive classes tuaght at his annual "Train the Hand" curriculum in Calgary.  So now, Seattle Woodcraft can deliver an economical version of the Hand Tool Master's classes to allow you to take your new-found skills and interest to the next level - right here in your own locale!  Rob is excited...and your Seattle Woodcraft staff are very excited to offer you this opportunity!

   YOUR SEATTLE WOODCRAFT ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE (OF SORTS...)

  • It includes our sincere thanks for your desire to purchase locally at the store;
  • Pass along to those businesses and schools who may be interested, that we give FREE quotes on woodworking equipment;
  • Pass along to the government agencies, schools, and other organizations that we are a locally-owned, woman-owned small business;
  • And stop by to say hello whenever you're in the area - it's always great to see friendly faces, see photos of your woodworking projects, or hear about your latest project, as they really provide stimuli!

SawStop Industrial Cabinet Saws and the SawStop Contractors Saws are in stock; the Professional Cabinet Saw will be available around August - but can be "pre-ordered" now for "first come/first served" delivery!  We have a floor model of the PCS on display now!  Stop by!

 Do You Know About Our Weekly E-Mail Newsletter?

Please make sure you are signed-up to get the "Seattle" Woodcraft version of our e-mail newsletter.  How would you know which version you are now getting?  The Seattle version always starts with:  "Dear Friend of Seattle Woodcraft" and ends with "Helping You Make Wood Work..."  You can change your sign-up at any time for the Seattle version; just go to woodcraft.com or woodcraftnews.com page and "update your subscription by indicating that you live close to the 'Seattle' Woodcraft store and would like to be notified of local in-store events and specials."  Since the monthly hard copy flier is generally on a four month advance planning cycle, we do use our weekly email newsletter for last minute updates about store happenings.
