Carl Aebersold
Carl is first and foremost husband, father, and grandfather. After that he's a woodworker. Carl is one of the founding members of Kyana Woodcrafters Club, and so far he's their life-long librarian. He's very flexible in terms of the hours he'll work, except that he WILL NOT work after 5:00pm on Saturdays so he can go to church, and he won't work on the first Thursday night of a month because of the Kyana Woodcrafters Club meetings. Carl's specialty is scroll sawing and pen turning. If you've got questions on those subjects then call or come in and ask for Carl. Of course, he's also very familiar with most other woodworking subjects so he's always a good source of information.
Marvin Ewing
Marvin's retired from Ford and he's such a nice guy that you can't help but like him. But he wins the blue ribbons EVERY YEAR at the Kentucky State Fair so you can't help be a bit envious (if you're honest with yourself). I mean EVERY YEAR! Come on. That's just a bit much. Marvin's a turner, and he is really good at it! He really does know the how's and why's and the science behind it. Marvin is also very active in Kyana Woodcrafters Club and the Louisville Area Woodturners Club.
Diane Frederick
Diane's the only chick on the staff, but she outworks all the boys but one (and that's Carl)! She's kind of quirky - for example she's married to a guy named Spike, what does that tell ya? Anyway, she started carving in alabaster but now concentrates on basswood. Diane is also very proficient with the scroll saw and in pen turning. She's a very sweet, kind, and generous person, and if we ever took a poll it might just show that she's the most popular person in the store.
Bill Doyle
Bill has been with us from the time we opened the store. In fact, he helped us set it up before we opened. Bill's retired military, police, and swat team member. He's an excellent woodworker, he sings in his church choir, and he loves a good laugh. Like most of us Bill knows quite a bit about nearly everything we carry, but after attending the Festool training center Bill has become a Festool missionary. Festool and Kreg pocket hole jigs get Bill excited. It's fun to see a grown man get so enthusiastic.
Charlie Baker
Charlie's our assistant manager. He's retired Navy and he knows more about woodworking in general than anyone else in the store. He's very knowledgeable about hand and power tools, jigs and accessories, hinges, drawer slides and all sorts of hardware. He's familiar with virtually everything we carry, and that's around 7,000 items.
Mike Delaney
Mike used to be our manager, then he quit. He then came back, albeit on a part-time basis. Mike is definitely a people person. He's just as nice and talkative as he can be. He's also a wannabe astronomer. He's such a geek that he's got his telescope wired to his keyboard and that's how he finds the stars. Mike's also a talented woodworker and he's very knowledgeable of our products.
Tom Geist
Tom specializes in scroll saw work and spray finishing. He also has a broad knowledge of woodworking and finishing. He's been teaching classes for us for years and just recently decided he wanted to be part of this troop. Tom's also a biker and believes that anything with two wheels and a motor is a great thing.
John Wiegand
John worked for the phone company before joining Woodcraft. He started out as a lineman but his talent led to frequent and significant promotions. He retired as a senior executive in an office chained to a desk. John's talent is now directed at being a very good pen turner and a very good overall woodworker.
