Comments about Outdoor Oil Finish, Quart :

Product lays down evenly, and even when thinned by 5-7%, does not drip if applied with light coats. We sprayed it (thinned 6% with mineral spirits) using an entry-level HVLP system, it went on smooth and dried to a durable, rock-hard finish.

Comments about Outdoor Oil Finish, Quart :

This product offers no protection at all. I used this on two plant stands for my front porch. They looked great when I set them out, but the finish deteriorated rapidly. After one season, the wood is rough and bleached out. Even the glue joints that I used waterproof glue on are coming apart. This product should be pulled from the market

Comments about Outdoor Oil Finish, Quart :

This is a great product. It produces a durable high gloss finish by being wiped on in two or three coats. I used it to put a protective finish on a self build hickory flat bow for archery, and it looks fantastic and holds up nicely. I can highly recommend it.

    Pros

    • Easy to apply
    • Even Paint Distribution

    Cons

    • Adds a slight gloss
    • Deteriorates

    Best Uses

Comments about Outdoor Oil Finish, Quart :

This stuff goes on easy and really helps to repel water. I can't yet comment on the UV inhibitors, GF has never yet let me down so I suspect it will function as advertised I used this on one outdoor piece and a spar varnish on another. I wish I had used this on both. It goes on much cleaner and adds little more than a slight gloss to the finish. I almost didn't count 'deteriorates' as a con, because that is the nature of any exterior oil.

Comments about Outdoor Oil Finish, Quart :

Used 1.5 quarts of the Outdoor Oil to weatherproof a 7'x4'x6' firewood shed. Dries reasonably fast and evenly. Not sticky. Pleasant odour. Repells water and dirt. Gave the white cedar lumber naturally looking honey hue.
