Comments about Rikon Portable Dust Extractor :

I have this hooked up to only one tool at a time. Works well if short distance. I decided to hook up the oneida cyclone to it and this has reduced it's suction capability. I am going to just use it for one tool and have it very close. I saw someone say that it is very loud. I do not think so. I think it is pretty quiet for what it is. The only thing about the cyclone is that it does increase the noise level. So when I get a 2hp dust collector this will go strictly one tool.

Working in a clean environment is a Must and more if you suffer from allergies, sinus or if you will like to prevent any health issues of working in a dusty environment. After good results with a wet and dry vacuum and now that my projects are bigger and the shavings are a lot this equipment is a must to have Excellent for cleaning or to have it connected to your power tools just add a proper fitting and you are good to go. Got it in the USA and now is in Canada and it was at a very good price It was a very good choice

Comments about Rikon Portable Dust Extractor :

This and every other distributer's website lists the filtration as 5 microns. Even Rikon's web page lists it as 5 on one chart and .5 on another. The plate on the machine reads .5 microns. So, I called Rikon and they claim it actually is .5 microns. I think I'm going to buy one since I can only run one tool plus a collector at one time and I am crunched for space.

Comments about Rikon Portable Dust Extractor :

Great machine over but don't let yourself be charmed by the 'whisper quiet' line. That's a blatant lie, this unit is powerful and noisy!!! Great tool overall but I will need to make a sound protection box, it simply is too noisy even in a second room, the restaurant upstairs won,t enjoy !

Comments about Rikon Portable Dust Extractor :

I have the Rikon Dust Collector used as a collector for my wood lathe. I connected the 4 inch hose to a "Mini Gulp" hood which I fixed to an adapted photographer's tripod. This gives me infinite adjustments to get the hood exactly where I need it, for best dust collection. Big turning chips fall to the ground but all the fine dust (and sanding dust) gets collected. No bags to empty ---- just a steel drum. Nicely designed and well-made. A tad noisy, but OK. The collector did a good job when connected directly to my planer. In summary, this is a very useful one-machine collector which is very well made and very convenient.

Comments about Rikon Portable Dust Extractor :

I bought the Rikon dust extractor to be my go to collector for my Carvewright system. That, coupled with a dust extractor funnel I bought from someone on the CW forum, I hooked it up and set it to work. First of all, its not perfect. It still leaves some dust behind as the power isn't like a 4 HP dust collector. But it grabs something like 95% of the dust which was more than I was hoping and did it on the cheap. What's more, I've run it for 10 hours at a shot and haven't had a problem at all. The only thing I will point out as a negative is that the dust collection bag within the unit is getting clogged a little easily. However, the CW makes very fine dust so it may not be a problem with most tools. I open the Rikon, skin the dust off the bag, set it back to work. I've had to do that every couple of hours (8-10) or the pressure to the DC hose gets very light. This is not a ding on the Rikon. I do recommend this very strongly.
