As Good As They Say It Is!
MaxiCut Forstner Bit 1-1/16"
I am a professional woodturner. I make a lot of Peppermills and Salt Mills requiring deep boring in very hard dense woods and several sizes of Forstner bits. I'll wear out a 1-1/16" bit in a couple of months. These Maxi-Cut bits do just what the manufacturer says. They drill fast, clean, and are extremely sharp. You can tell the difference in the feel of the ease of drilling. Another great feature is that they will not spin in the chuck. So you don't have to tighten your chuck so tight that its difficult to release the bit. Too Cool! However, they do tend to clog a bit, but any bit will do that. Because they drill so fast one has a tendency not to clear the swarf as much - hence the clogging. These bits really are wonderful and worth the money. As I wear out my existing forstners I will definitely be replacing them with Maxi-Bits.
