Comments about NOVA 23067 SuperNOVA 2 Companion Wood Turning Insert Type :

I have three lathes and over thirty chucks two of which are SupterNova2s. I love the inserts with the grub screws which provide absolute certainty that your chuck will not accidentally twist off the lathe (It has happened.). I like chucks which have interchangeable spindle adapters because they allow me to switch the chuck between lathes with different headstock spindle sizes (1" 8 tpi and 1 1/4" 8 tpi). When you purchase your chuck be certain to purchase genuine nova inserts. Brand X is not machined as accurately as the Nova brand. With my two Nova chucks and their wide range of jaws, I am going to sell several of my other chucks.

Comments about NOVA 23067 SuperNOVA 2 Companion Wood Turning Insert Type :

I purchased this chuck at the recommendation of a Woodcraft salesperson, and frankly he didn't know a lot of what he talked about. First this is a good quality, well priced chuck. The biggest complaint I have with it is that the jaws function opposite of all the other chucks I have fooled with. It is very counter-intuitive. Second beef is that you have to really crank on it to be sure it has a tight grip on your material.
