This kit produces a very attractive pen with nice heft and balance. I have used pens constructed from this kit as gifts which were especially appreciated by the recipients. As noted by another reviewer, the 33/64ths drill is not the correct size for the larger hole. It is too small. I had to use a 17/32nds drill to make hole large enough for the larger brass tube to fit with adequate clearance for glue. I would recommend this kit with a caveat about the 33/64ths drill size.

Center Ring Retainer is the only black plastic part in this kit. When this part becomes metal like the Metal Nib holder - this kit will be perfection!

The catalog calls for 31/64" and 33/64" drill bits. The 33/64" bit is too small,the tube will not slip in. I used a 17/32" drill and that worked very well. I think that you have a problem. Other than that I am well satisfied, and will continue making these pens off and on.
