I use this model in the nuclear power industry, these are great and sure beat "sucking rubber" that we use to go with normal full face respirators. They wood great when grinding or producing fine dust particles.It would work good for working on a wood lathe(witch is what I use it for at the house. It is a little bulky at first but you get use to it, it's a lot better than wearing a dust mask and a face shield or safety glasses combo. The air circulating prevents fogging and reduces fatigue. if wearing in extreme heat the fan will still blow in the hot air, but in a place where the avg. temp is around high 70's to 85 deg. F. the air will feel cooler while wearing this mask. its a fan the allows cooler air to be blown across your face and not a air conditioner. There has been times then when my job was finished and I was staying in the area, waiting on someone to finish their job, that after I took it off, I put it back on because it felt better with it on. The bottom piece that closes the mask around the chin/neck is made out of a material thats like a rubber/foam mix. It's comfortable and doesn't restrict movement. I have worn this mask numerous times and at many hours at a time. There are times that I will opt to wearing this mask over other options. Only thing to be aware of is your head size. If you have a large head this may feel too tight. But if you have an avg. or small head than there are no worries. The fan isn't loud and doesn't have an annoying sound. Just sounds like a small fan. Get the extra battery as you will be surpassed at how time melts away while working in this mask. Filtration is great, at work I use it to keep from breathing fine dust or metal shavings contaminated with Alpha radiation particles. Get It....Works Great.
