The stainless steel woven in with the fabric obviously accounts for this. I would prefer this glove to have the little rubber "nubbies" to improve the grip of small items. I've had small pieces of wood slip right out of my hand while carving them which is not a good thing when working with sharp tools. Fortunately, I have not "tested" the protection that this glove provides. I doubt that it will protect me from a puncture wound, but neither would any other glove I've used. I would prefer this glove to have the little rubber "nubbies" to improve the grip of small items. I've had small pieces of wood slip right out of my hand while carving them which is not a good thing when working with sharp tools. Fortunately, I have not "tested" the protection that this glove provides. I doubt that it will protect me from a puncture wound, but neither would any other glove I've used.
