These are good alternatives to the expensive metal elbows. I use them for a shop-built cyclone lid that fits on a 30gal metal trashcan. They hold up great and I have not noticed any significant loss of pressure using them. I have only tried using them with the 4" clear dust collection hose because they do not look like they fit well into the spiral pipe. Break down and go metal to metal, but use these inexpensive elbows where you are running 4" DC hose.

There's nothing wrong with this dust elbow, or any of the other plastic parts sold here. They're durable; they fit. I wish, however, that someone would come up with a way to make the plastic-to-plastic connections more secure. I'm using this elbow to connect the vacuum hoses to the 2-stage trash can lid, and any movement of the hoses will cause the elbow to disconnect from the lid. I also found the elbow that connect inside the trash can to have fallen off. Must be a better way...
