The Ernie Meuhlmatt pen. Many champion carvers, such as Ernie, design their own pen and immediately other carvers want it. When you see the results that Ernie gets, you can hardly blame them. This flat tip is radiused across the top of the pen and part way down both sides. The tip is used on small feather patterns and in reversed curve areas where points could cause a problem. It is the smallest of the rounded tips and is excellent for detailing small birds or miniatures. Another advantage of the radius tip is that a push or pull burning technique can be used.
