This tool is perfect for pre drilling in assembly situations. It works exactly as described, advancing pre drilling out of the "dark ages". This works so much better that anything that came before it. I found an other use that makes it even more indispensable. When I attach studs to top or bottom plates I screw them. To avoid splitting, I always pre drill before "toe nailing" the screw. With any other type of drill bit you have to start drilling at 90 degrees to get the bit to dig in before changing to an acute angle. This bit is so pointy that you just set the drill at the angle you want and start drilling.

Used one a few years ago, but been out of the woodworking phase for a couple of years, job in the way and kids car in garge. Car is gone and started playing agian. liked the bit then, must of broke in tool box so ordered a replacement. [...]
