Product Information:

Solar-Lux is a highly fade and UV resistant, dye base, non-grain raising stain. Its penetration and translucency enhance the wood’s grain pattern. Solar-Lux shades can be mixed to achieve custom colors, and it accepts a finish coat of polyurethane, oil or conventional lacquer. Apply with the grain and then wipe with a clean lint-free cloth. Solar-Lux dries to the touch in about five minutes but you should wait about an hour before recoating. Solar-Lux can be mixed into Behlen nitrocellulose spray lacquers to produce shading and highlighting toners. Use warm, soapy water or Solar-Lux Reducer to clean up equipment. One pint.

Comments about Behlen Solar-Lux Stain, Jet Black, Pint :

This product is consistent at staining. It penetrates deep into the wood. I am so happy how I took my oak cabinets and converted them to black. I highly recommend this product. THe only thing is be careful what other things that this stain touches hard to get off.

Comments about Behlen Solar-Lux Stain, Jet Black, Pint :

This product is the best to use, because it will not raise the grain on your sanded project. This is a big time saver for me because I can start spraying my finishing coats without the need to build up enough material to sand smooth again. If your fussy about the finish like me try Solar Lux you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Behlen Solar-Lux Stain, Jet Black, Pint :

My application of this product is on small wood turned items. I've never tried it on large areas like furniture or cabinets. I put a light sanding sealer on the wood and then I applied the color straight from the bottle on to the wood (2 coats with drying in between). When first using this product I noticed it had a hint of purple and thought I was going to be disappointed. After the second application of the color it was very black. But the color appeared splotchy and uneven when it dried. Once I applied the lacquer over the top -everything evened out. I was very happy with the final result I like this product so much I'm going to try some of the colors next.
