Product Information:

Easily convert your Nova chuck into a fast, accurate pen drilling machine with the Nova Pen Plus Jaws. The big jaw design and ā€œVā€ groove provide a vibration free, solid grip for all pen blank sizes to ensure an accurate, centered hole every time. The jaws are also perfect for squaring up the ends of the pen blanks, but they do much more. Their solid heavy design means that they are powerful enough to handle larger and longer spigot work. With over 1-1/2" of rock-solid grip available, larger squares or rounds can be easily turned.

  • Perfect centered holes in any size pen blank

  • Rock-solid grip

  • Excellent for larger and longer spigot work

Comments about Nova Pen Drilling Jaws :

This does exactly what it is supposed to do - hold a pen blank securely so it can be drilled. I find it to be much more accurate than my drill press using a pen vise clamped to my drill press table. Since I am now able to use my dust collector as I drill, there is considerably less mess. The one thing it is not is faster. Where the drill press retracts automatically, the tailstock has to be manually advanced/retracted - not a big deal. Changing out the blank takes considerably longer (Lefty Tighty - Righty Loosy). I have mine mounted on a dedicated chuck. Everything considered, it is well worth the money, especially when using smaller blanks.

Comments about Nova Pen Drilling Jaws :

This works great I put it on my chuck and drilled a practice hole and it came out right on center. I put a dowel in it and tightened down was no woble and it turned true. before I was using a nova pin jaw with 4 jaws and always had a hard time to drill a strait centered hole. I got this hoping it would be a little bit easier to drill the holes I needed to. I was wrong it worked way better then I was hopping for worth every penny and replaces my drill vise and drill press and my pin jaw. I was going to buy a really expensive pen vise but with this no need I am so happy with this. I even drilled a segmented piece 1/4 each side a different preice of wood this drilled it center 8 inches long no problems.

Comments about Nova Pen Drilling Jaws :

As easy to install on a Nove 2 as any other jaws. Really grabs a pen blank and allow you to use a tail stock drill chuck to drill a centered hole through a pen blank. Since you are drilling along the lathe axis you are sure to get a perfectly centered hole for then mounting on your mandrel. I have a pen drilling vise for my drill press, but this is faster, easier, less expensive and much more exact, not to mention less finicky, than using my drill press.
