Nova Pen Jaws
Nova Pen Drilling Jaws
This does exactly what it is supposed to do - hold a pen blank securely so it can be drilled.
I find it to be much more accurate than my drill press using a pen vise clamped to my drill press table. Since I am now able to use my dust collector as I drill, there is considerably less mess.
The one thing it is not is faster. Where the drill press retracts automatically, the tailstock has to be manually advanced/retracted - not a big deal. Changing out the blank takes considerably longer (Lefty Tighty - Righty Loosy).
I have mine mounted on a dedicated chuck.
Everything considered, it is well worth the money, especially when using smaller blanks.

This works great I put it on my chuck and drilled a practice hole and it came out right on center. I put a dowel in it and tightened down was no woble and it turned true. before I was using a nova pin jaw with 4 jaws and always had a hard time to drill a strait centered hole. I got this hoping it would be a little bit easier to drill the holes I needed to. I was wrong it worked way better then I was hopping for worth every penny and replaces my drill vise and drill press and my pin jaw. I was going to buy a really expensive pen vise but with this no need I am so happy with this. I even drilled a segmented piece 1/4 each side a different preice of wood this drilled it center 8 inches long no problems.
Does exactly what it's desgned to do.
As easy to install on a Nove 2 as any other jaws. Really grabs a pen blank and allow you to use a tail stock drill chuck to drill a centered hole through a pen blank. Since you are drilling along the lathe axis you are sure to get a perfectly centered hole for then mounting on your mandrel.
I have a pen drilling vise for my drill press, but this is faster, easier, less expensive and much more exact, not to mention less finicky, than using my drill press.
