Performance Abrasives New Wave 2" Scruff & Buff Ball 180 Grit Green
Seems like a good idea for sanding the inside of things like bowls until, after about 4 or 5 minutes, you realize that the grit is gone from the surface of the ball and all you're doing is rubbing your bowl or whatever with plastic wool. The manufacturer claims that the ball continuously wears down exposing new grit but that doesn't actually happen at a useful rate. After just a few minutes there's no grit available at the surface of the ball.

Good for unusual sanding applications
The 180 grit ball does take a sharp edge off a newly routed part. I think that I was hoping for a more agressive cut. Still learing how to use most effectively. To date have been using on a drill press with reasonable results.
This is a special application tool when other more conventional sanding devices do not seem to do well.

Leaves colors on wood carvings
Traverse City, MI
Iused the scruff ball to finish off a wood carving. The ball's abrasiveness deteriorates quickly with use and cannot be applied except for short periods without leaving color (green) on the object being sanded.
