Stays Sharp, Destroys Blanks
3/4" Diameter Carbide Barrel Trimmer Head
I thought that having carbide tips would be great as it would not have to be sharpened as often. But only having two teeth it tends to grab and break the blanks. I think that I've destroyed as many blanks as I've successfully milled. I'd consider purchasing one with four teeth but would not buy another one of these.

This is very strong and very impressive/aggressive. My problem is that it will catch on the end and tear out a bit of the work piece. If there were 3 or 4 teeth instead of just 2 it would last and be a fantastic product without so much damage.
I wanted a trimmer that would stay sharp longer than the carbon steel ones. I was a little skeptical about only two wings for cutting. I have used this on over 200 acrylic and wood pens so far and this is still cutting like new. It does make a slight scallop if I push too hard when trimming the end of the blank but I sand flush after turning. I would like it better if it had 4 cutters even thought it would be more expensive. With 4 cutters it should be a top quality item.
