Great kit except...
Hancock Stainless Steel Rollerball Pen Kit
First time assembled the pen the tolerances were too tight for the nib and end cap cracking the expensive snakewood blank. Second try, sanding and checking the problem parts fixed the problem.
I coated the threads in the cap with clear fingernail polish and it smoothed out the threads and fixed the galling problem.
Apart from the problems it is a beautiful pen when it is all said and done and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

a great pen!
This is a superior kit pen. Metal parts are solid stainless steel rather than chrome plated brass which is the usual case. Assembly is simple and straight forward. Pair it with a "classy" blank (such as a synthetic stone or an exotic wood)and you have a pen that (for me) sells in the $100+ range. I also like that it is US-made which is a good selling point. If I had an issue (I don't) it would be that the stainless threading can feel "raspy". A tiny bit of lube resolves this.

Great kit, but subject to thread galling
This is a well put together kit. Assembles nicely. Press fittings are tight. Bought two, made two. The problem is with the threads. They screw together rough. I was disappointed and came here to leave a comment. Saw the other comments about the same problem. Did a little Google research on stainless steel thread galling. I recommend you do the same before you buy. If you buy one, DO NOT over tighten the threaded components. They are otherwise an excellent pen kit. If they were a different material, I would give 5 stars and recommend buying.

Nice Kit - Made in USA
There have been comments about threading on the cap of this kit. This kit is entirely stainless steel and threaded surfaces can "gall" because of the "stickiness" of this material. You'll find small bit of vaseline will remedy this quite well.

I'd read a review and heard by word of mouth that there have been issues with the threads on these pen sets. I just built my first of three of these and must say I couldn't be happier. The tolerances of the bushings to tube and other fitments of the pen are much tighter than any other kit I've purchased here. Assembly was very straight forward. I think the stainless steel is head and shoulders above any of the chrome or gold sets out there and you gotta love that these are made in the USA. I'm looking forward to turning the other 2 of these kits I bought!

Very nice substantial Pen
This is a very nice pen. I sold the one I made in one day. My only concern is the threaded parts (cap) seemed not as well milled as the rest of the components. The fact the parts were made in the USA are a good selling point. I will be making more.
