Comments about WoodRiver Universal Mobile Base Hardware Kit :

I gave this just three stars because of the new design. I bought this to use under an inherited drill press. I have an older model under my bandsaw. For the newer model, Wood River has added slots on the sides that corresponding tabs on the triangular top plates fit into. This is NOT an improvement. Technically, they have lessened the structural integrity of the corner and the slots are just another place for dirt an debris to collect. Being a retired Engineer, I understand design improvements, but change just for the sake of change is not necessarily for then better. Besides, this just added another step in the manufacturing process or at a minimum, caused Wood River to alter their forming dies. If they wanted to make an improvement, they should have made the swivel casters replaceable and/or improved the hinge.

Installed easily on my Craftsman Bandsaw. Instructions would be helped by another illustration of parts assembled on the plywood.Works easily to move the saw in & out of use. Will buy at least one more for use on my Miter saw.

Comments about WoodRiver Universal Mobile Base Hardware Kit :

I installed this base on my cast iron 6" jointer for mobiity in my basement workshop. The instructions were adequate but not great, they don't show the orientation of the wheels on a machine. The hardware supposedly works with up to a 1-1/2" base platform, but the supplied bolts aren't long enough for that. I used the recommended 3/4" plywood base and it's fine. The wheels roll effortlessly on my concrete floor, and lock down when needed. This is much better than the 2" casters I had before.

    • Rated For 600 Lbs

Comments about WoodRiver Universal Mobile Base Hardware Kit :

This is a well fabricated universal base. Four point floor contact with levelers and still easy to move a 500lb cabinet saw. Requires a 3/4 to 1 1/2" thick wood panel to mount the corners to. But will fit about any size machine base, and the 600lb weight capacity is better than many costing considerably more.

Comments about WoodRiver Universal Mobile Base Hardware Kit :

I bought this to wheel around an old cast iron craftsman table saw. It was easy to assemble. Reading reviews on other brands, I was worried the levers letting the wheels up and down might not be heavy duty enough. That was NOT the case! These are fairly heavy guage steel and shouldn't be a problem. I still need to "tweak" the leveling feet a little to prevent any sliding but all in all, it works great. Good deal for the price.

Comments about WoodRiver Universal Mobile Base Hardware Kit :

Very solidly built casters that you add to your own plywood base. Allowed me to design a custom base for my lathe. I showed heavy as a con but this is not really a downside for most applications
