WoodRiver Universal Drill Press Laser Attachment
Great product would recommend to all
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I've spent a few hours trying to get the installation right. One problem is that you have to work from behind the drill press to see the beams on the alignment tool. It's also pretty touchy to get the beams parallel to the tool. I could only get it to within a 1/16th of the target point. The beams are blocked out when the bit is lowered to the contact point but that's probably the way it's supposed to be. The instructions are not clear if the alignment tool point should be touching the table. I'll try that again. If you are able to get it lined up correctly, it will be a help.

Too much plastic!
The unit is made of way too much plastic, which makes it very flimsy and subject to damage if you are not careful with it.
Laser Cross Hair for my Drill Press
Easy to install and easy to calibrate. The laser beam is way to thick. The product would be much better if laser beam was about 1/3 the width. But even saying that, it still is makes drilling a bit quicker.
Used To Be Made Better
Santa Rosa, CA
This was my second purchase of the laser crosshair device. I should have purchased two of them a few years ago when the housing was cast metal instead of flimsy plastic. My other one (the metal one) was very solid. I purchased it for my drill press, but about a year later I mounted it to my CaMaster CNC Router, and it is still absolutely wonderful. Recently I purchased the second one. This new one is able to be distorted by merely touching an edge of the unit mounted with its hose clamp on my drill press. If I tighten the hose clamp, it throws the alignment off by a large distance, which means realignment, but even after this it is still easily distorted because the housing is too flexible. Bad choice of a redesign. Plus, the laser markings are not as sharp as on the older one. Bring back the quality version, and Ill get that one, even for more money. It is not always about price, sometimes it is about need.
