Pen Inlay Kit - American Bald Eagle, Red - for Wall Street II and III
its an overall good pen to work with if you know what you're doing. (it requires some fine hand filing to make it work)

Very difficult to use

Deceiving during Assembly
Joe in Colorado
This kit was a little challenging to put together and left a few small gaps. When assembling, place peices in from the point end first. some may need to be purswaded by rolling or with a tack hammer to bring them flush (be carefull as the small edges with grain are fragile and it is easy to break or chip corners) Once turned, they recommend filling the lines with dark wood dust. I used sanding dust from a scrap of hardboard. Although the website says these kits are incompatible with the "elegant" kits, you only need to use a standard length replacement tube and a spare click spacer to make it fit. The final product was very nice. I will definately be doing more of these inlay kits.
American Bald Eagle inlay kit brown
Lou the woodturner
I was a bit intimidated with this kit but took it slowly and found it to be quite easy. Used a CA finish and it came out beautiful. It will be a gift to a person who admires birds of prey and a proffesional photographer of birds. He will love this pen. The total assembly took a lot less time than I thought it would. My total time including CA finish was less than 2-1/2hours. Would highly recommend this kit but wish there were more designs/kits to choose from. Only thing is the contrast of the colors from the brown barrel to colors of the head. Barrel should have been a lighter tone of brown. Might try the blue one next.
Bald Eagle Inlay with Brown Barrel
I have put together about 20 Inlay pens. The Bald Eagle is one of the most difficult as the parts can be broken while removing from the scrap. Breakage does not distract from assembly as the breaks disappear once turned
Great looking kit. you need to take your time putting the inlays in.
A Great Eagle Scout Gift!
A unique gift! I made kit for my favorite Eagle Scout. I found the most difficult part of assembly is to free the small wood pieces from the laser cut wood. Relax and take your time! Once I had the separate pieces placing them in the pen blank was an easy chore. I'm very pleased with the finished product! Sanding the barrel was easy to accomplish and using a light touch with sharp skew I was able to shape the barrel with no problem. I finished with a couple coats first of Hut Satin Gloss then Hut High Gloss. I purchased a blue and a brown eagle kit. The Bald Eagle in the brown and blue are my first inlay kits to make, BUT not my last!
