Comments about Woodturning Project Kit for Badger Hair Bristle Brush 20 mm :

A decent knot for a fair price. Fit the knot to the handle while still on the lathe, that way the hole will be the right size. Knots vary in size, never rely on the "spec" size. I've made or restored numerous brushes with knots from a variety of sources, they rarely are exactly the advertised size. This knot needs to be well washed before use, soak it in soap and water for a while, dry it and then glue it in you handle. Mine shredded a lot for several uses, but has now developed into one of my favorite brushes.

Comments about Woodturning Project Kit for Badger Hair Bristle Brush 20 mm :

I have made several of these Badger Hair Brushes as well as the Razor Kits. The Brushes are of excellent quality. The only problem is the Instructions which state to use a 3/4" Forstner bit to drill for receiving the brush end. I nearly ruined the first one because I did not dry-fit it first. After slathering 5 minute epoxy all over it and in the hole I found that a 3/4" hole was TOO SMALL! It clearly states everywhere on the product and the instructions that it is 20mm. 20mm is larger than 3/4". Duh! Be sure to buy a 20mm Forstner Bit or turn the hole larger to fit the brush.

I don't have any other shaving brushes to compare but it seems like a well made product. For a personal touch, I use a 12ga shot shell for the handle. The brush was a perfect fit.

Comments about Woodturning Project Kit for Badger Hair Bristle Brush 20 mm :

The brush is very good quality and the price is competitive. However, there is one huge error in the instructions. They say to drill a 3/4" hole to receive the end of the brush. It clearly states everywhere that the end is 20mm. I nearly ruined the first one I made because it will not fit in a 3/4" hole. They need to offer a 20mm forstner bit on the page with the brush and change the instructions. I still haven't purchased a 20mm bit so I just turn the hole myself on the lathe to fit.
