Product Information:

The Super FMT's design is based on the original and incomparable FMT. The same great features produce the same great joints.

The Super FMT uses just one bit, one guide and one setup for every standard joint. It’s that easy. There are no bit or guide changes to fuss with and the setup stays the same for both parts of the joint. Joint fit is easily adjusted for perfect results every time. Using the Super FMT and optional guides & bits allows you to create any size mortise & tenon from a tiny 1/16" x 1/8" to a massive 1/2" x 5".

  • Universal sub-base attaches to virtually any plunge router

  • Five 5/16" joint guides (1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2") over 21 sizes of mortise & tenons

  • 5/16" HSS spiral upcut bit with 1/2" shank (Leigh# 170-500)

  • Two F-style clamps and adjustable side-stop fence for tenoning

  • 1/8" hex driver, mounting hardware and illustrated user guide

Comments about LEIGH Super FMT Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig :

I got this to be able to build tables. It has a pretty extensive manual that has some room for improvement but is better than most. There are a few things (like squaring the material) that are left for you to figure out. I don't like that you have to "experiment" a but to find the right fit, I guess this is due to the fact that different routers have different tolerances so Leigh had to account for that. Over all a good product. If i had to do it over I would have bought the FMT and paid more!

Comments about LEIGH Super FMT Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig :

Spent all day setting it up and doing test joints, only to find that the metal plate that the router sets on deflects when you push down on the router, causing inconsistent depth of both the cutting head and the guide pin in the pattern. Going to try and trade it up for the real thing. Save your money - get the REAL FMT.

Comments about LEIGH Super FMT Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig :

Cuts great mortises and tenons. Instruction manual is well done and written in clear, unbroken English. The alignment tool works well. The tool is made of heavy gauge steel. My only problem so far is that it is sometimes difficult to place the hold down clamps where they need to be placed to hold the stock securely.

Have not got to use it much. It was easy to set setup/assemble. Definitely need more clamps than the two provided to hold pieces other than that it is great.

Comments about LEIGH Super FMT Frame Mortise & Tenon Jig :

After a bit of assembly - about 1 hour, I was making very accurate mortise and tenon assemblies. I'll need to manufacture some accessories, as described in the manual for it to be fully functional, but I'm looking forward to making many things more easily than I could have every made them before.
