Starrett Tempered Steel Rafter Square
Starrett should be ashamed to put their name on this tool!! It is out of square in two different directions between the out side and the inside of the square. Nice for all the formulas on it, but do not use it for marking or checking square cuts etc.

It is square and that's why I ordered it. Would be better if the scales where etched instead of painted on
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
it has a nice weight and feels solid unlike the squares you find at home centers. i dont like how the measurements are painted on but other than that, its just fine.
Setting machines up square and checking square on projects. It's reliable precision saves on double checks. I would prefer that the edges were just a bit sharper although it feels good in my hands.
Nor what I expected
I am disappointed that Starrett painted all the inch measurement lines on the square. All the others I have bought have been engraved.
Good Quality, Good Readability

Good Tool. Easy to read even in low light

I got tired of using a drywall square that I couldn't keep square so I bought the Starrett. I dropped it from an 8' ladder onto a concrete floor the first time that I used it and found that it was still a perfect 90 degrees. Well made, durable tool.
