    Comments about Blackwood, Burmese 2 x 2 x 12 :

This is a very dense and heavy wood, but is easy to turn, sand, and polish. Density of the wood almost makes you think that it is an acrylic. Was very pleased with the final results. I will say that the wood did load up the sand paper much quicker than a maple or cherry wood, but I don't think that should deter anyone from trying it out since the final results are outstanding.

    Comments about Blackwood, Burmese 2 x 2 x 12 :

Almost black, with faint streaks of red or violet. Very dense. After removing the wax coating, (NOT on the end grain!), noticed how cold the wood was, indicating moisture. Must let the wood air-dry for a short period before re-sawing.
