Product Information:

Quina Myroxylon peruiferum or Argentine Sandalwood. A pinkish-red wood with an oily feel and incredible perfumed scent that lasts. Quina is beautifully figured. Finely textured, this wood provides an excellent polish. Quina is extremely durable and is widely used in Argentina for a variety of purpopses. Typical Uses: Window and door frames, counter tops, cutting boards and flooring. Source Region: Argentina

  • Heartwood color is deep red with purple highlights
  • High natural luster
  • Spicy scent, a source of balsam used in perfumes
  • Good in-use stability
  • Can be difficult to machine due to interlocked grain

  • Due to the nature of wood movement, shrinkage and expansion are possible. Please measure each piece carefully before starting any project.

Wood is a product of nature, and as such, no two pieces are alike to start with, while the same wood growing in different locales can vary greatly even though it is the exact same species.

    Comments about Quina 2" x 2" x 12" :

Looks like ribbon-figure Mahogany on quarter-sawn sides, but harder and denser. Stable and works easily. Nice finish.
