Never going back to oil based poly
HP Polyurethane Top Coat, Semi-Gloss, Gallon
I tried this product because my brother recommended it. I've used it on a few projects now and don't see myself going back to oil-based poly. I have brushed, rolled, and sprayed it onto my projects. It does dry quickly which is why I have used several methods to apply it depending on the size of the project. I've heard of other water-based polys gumming up when water sits on a surface. I haven't had any issues from contact with water. My next adventure is to mix this poly with the Trans-tint dyes.
I gave it 4 stars just because it does dry too fast sometimes, but maybe that's just because I am use to oil-based poly.

Spring Hill TN
Tested other water based finish from big box store and this product beats it hands down. I roller it on with a foam roller, the stuff drys quickly so the roller worked best for me. I have had to thin a few cans as it came too thick from the factory. The stuff cures so quickly I am able to complete a project in one day. Roll on finish, wait an hour or two, lightly sand smooth, roll on next coat, wait an hour or two, lightly sand and put last coat on. I have used about 3 gallons of this product this last summer and 3 coats seems to be the magic number. But when you can sand it in two hours it is no problem. I finished a large coffee table with it and was able to polish the last coat after waiting over night curing. It would take days for oil based to cure enough for that. It costs a lot more, but you really get what you pay for in this product.
