Product Information:

Tired of the hassle of mounting wooden blocks to your lathe faceplates? Now you can make all the glue faceplates and jam chucks you want without ever having to mount blocks on your metal faceplates again! These taps are machined in lathe spindle sizes so that after you have drilled and tapped a wooded block, you simply mount the block directly onto your lathe. The tapped block can then be put to use in a special face plate, vacuum fixture or other mounting assembly. Instructions included.

  • 1-1/4" x 8 TPI
  • Great for making your own glue faceplates and jam chucks

Comments about Beall Spindle Tap, 1-1/4" x 8 TPI :

I love the spindle tap! Great investment for the price. It's easy to use and worked just as I expected it. I look forward to using it quite a bit in the future. Pro: Very easy to use. I drilled a 1 1/8" hole w/ a Forstner bit. Then slowly twisted the tap into the hole blowing out the wood chips every few twists. Worked great! and mounted to the lathe perfectly. The only Con I have is that the shaft has a square at the end. If it where hex, then you could drive this with a ratchet or wrench set. I will just make a custome handle for it.

Obviously for screwless faceplates so I can even turn that 3/4 thick special piece of "thin" wood into a marketable plate or platter.

Comments about Beall Spindle Tap, 1-1/4" x 8 TPI :

Very nice tap, simple to use. It's nice to be able to tap a block of wood and use it as a jam chuck or face plate on my lathe. Great money saver.
