Good sander for special applications
Guinevere Sand & Polish Motor
This is a nice little sander.
However, you need to remove the suction cups off the bottom and screw it to a scrap piece of plywood. Then clamp the plywood to your workbench. The suction cups will not hold. It will eventually vibrate loose and then fall off your bench. If it does fall off the bench (happened to me), and hits one of the chucks on the floor, it can become misaligned and stop working. Tap the other chuck lightly with a rubber mallet, and then it will start working again.
Now the possitives: Once it is secured as I descriped above, it's a nice sander. I use the inflatable sanders that are sold with this product. I also use Sandflee sanding mops in this (which work great for sanding profiles). Of course, you can use regular sanding drums as well.
It would be great to have speed control on this as the other poster suggested, but that would probably add a lot of cost. Seems to work fine at the speed that it's at.
I have the dust collection system for this. The problem is that the hose that this product uses is a very odd size, which requires me to tape it to the shop vac. Kind of a pain. I wish they supplied adapters that work with shopvacs. There was one or two adapters, which did not work fo rme. Dust collection does work well once it's hooked up.
In short, it gets the job done, It has saved me a lot of time sanding. Despite the comments above, I am glad I bought it. I can't complain about the actual sanding it does. Nice job.

Needs speed control
This is a single speed unit running at a reported 3600rpm. That is too fast for coarser sanding grits. A speed control would be extremely useful.
The Flex shaft and motor seem to have some vibration. Ut compares poorly in quality and tolerances to the Flex shaft on my Foredom, the only other Flex shaft I have experience with.
Keyless chucks would have been preferable, as this is not a common sized key.
