Product Information:

Ideal for detailing and intricate carving, this powerful high-torque hand piece features variable speed, so you can always be operating at the optimum speed required by your bit or type of stock. Because the motor is built into the hand piece, there is no flexible shaft to restrict your movements, and you can carve at any angle without worrying about damaging a flexible shaft. The lightweight body and cord allow you to carve longer, more comfortably, and with greater accuracy. At only 6-1/4" long and 1" diameter, it fits comfortably in the hand and is light enough to be held like a pencil. Variable speed: 3,000 to 23,000 RPM. Includes 1/8" and 3/32" collets.

Comments about High Torque Carver/Engraver :

The rotary tool is great to light wt for detail work. However, I only cared one bowl (20 hrs of use) before it started to not allow varible speed. Then it finally quit. The transitor, came unglued from the circuit board and the movement of it finally broke the three pins. I really like the tool and was able to move up to a new level of detail in my work without investing ungodly amounts of time.

Wood carving. It is held like an oversized pencil making it easy to use. It may be slightly under powered if you force it too much. Let it do it's own thing like any other tool and it is fine.

Works great for adding finishing touches and light sanding to my wood carvings. Have used it quite a bit already and am very pleased. I have a Fordom, but find it difficult to use for fine detail work. Much easier to use then my Dremel.

Comments about High Torque Carver/Engraver :

I had to return my first one, because I couldn't remove the burr. The stop would not hold to remove the bit. Other than that, the power tool worked great. I rated it according to the problem. I called support, and they are replacing the tool. I think that the tool will be great for what I want it for.

Comments about High Torque Carver/Engraver :

Having used the flex shafts for years, I was surprised at how comfortable the mini motor carver was to use. I regret not getting one years ago, I liked it enough that I ordered a second unit so I don't have to switch burrs as often. It is not for "hogging" wood carving jobs, but it is a great fine detail carver. Runs super quiet, almost too quiet, you really need to make sure you turn it off before sitting it down. I really like the lack of vibration when it is running. A real winner, even recommended it to a friend that carves.

Comments about High Torque Carver/Engraver :

I bought one of these around 2006 from woodcraft. I use it all the time for details on my small carvings and it is still going strong. I do not use it for final details, but it is great for everything in between roughing out a design and final. I am going to get a backup soon, just in case, because I do not want to spend any time at all without this thing.
