Comments about WoodRiver 1/8" Diamond Parting Tool :

I needed a smaller profile parting tool to cut tenons down on some new pen kits I wanted to try. In the interest of speed and accuracy, I didn't want to make multiple cuts with a thin parting tool, and the next smallest one I had was 1/4". I decided to give this a shot. Out of the packaging, the fit and finish was nice. Great long handle, good finish on the handle, and the tool was cut well. This did take a lot of work to get sharp. One side had a decent sized hollow. I worked the edges flat and smooth with waterstones and went turning. It cut really well and really quickly. a perfect 90 degree face was essential and this tool was able to do so easily. After using it a few times, the edge is holding up better than I expected for Chinese steel. At this price for a full sized tool, I would highly recommend it.
